Eurecat’s Smart Materials & Devices Up – Scaling Laboratory encompasses a number of different infrastructures including a laboratory for physical, chemical and biochemical analysis and characterisation of surfaces and devices and a laboratory for printed electronics printing industrial pre-scaling processes.

For surface characterisation we deliver a suite of services for characterising materials and surfaces such as wettability, roughness, surface energy, surface tension, reflectance, transmittance, rheology and stability in climatic chambers.

We also provide surface functionalisation services and formulation and deposition of functional inks on rigid or flexible substrates to obtain multilayer devices.

In industrial scale-up, we furnish the opportunity to study and test processes with printing techniques, deposition techniques, corona and plasma pre-treatment systems and various curing systems: thermal, UV and photonic.

The Smart Materials & Devices Up-Scaling laboratory additionally includes a facility for developing and characterising sensors, biosensors, actuators and fuel cells for use in applications in fields such as energy, medical diagnostics, biochemistry and the environment.
