Hardness determination

The Eurecat Metallic and Ceramic Materials Laboratory‘s service for determining the hardness of materials provides information on their capacity to resist localised permanent deformation on the basis of:

• Hardness tests on ferrous and non-ferrous alloys on the following scales: HB, HV, HRC, HRB, HRN.
• Vickers microhardness tests to determine the depth of surface heat treatments, characterisation of welded joints, hardness in coatings, etc.
• Shore A and Shore D hardness tests on polymeric materials.
