Specific heat capacity determination

The Analytical and Characterisation Laboratory‘s heat determination test heats the test material at a constant rate and in a controlled atmosphere within the region of interest.

The difference in heat flux due to energy changes between the material and a standard material (SAFIR) is also evaluated and the specific heat capacity (SHC) at the required temperature is determined using differential scanning calorimetry equipment.
